Tuesday, February 16 Prayer Needs
We are on a roller coaster ride these days. After learning of improvements last night in our morning update, Dad had a hard day again. Every day there is both a positive answer to a previously distressing scenario along with a new problem to overcome.
The positive news is that his heart rate and blood pressure have remained stable along with all of his other major organs. His fever is gone and he is still responsive to the staff. Last night we learned that his nurse asked him if she could pray with him and he nodded yes. We can't tell you how much that meant to us as I'm sure it means to all of you reading this that he was covered in prayer even by his nurse last night.
Today's new problems were a low hemoglobin count necessitating him getting a pint of blood and a drastic drop in his oxygenation after he'd been slowly improving over the last 24 hours. With high oxygen, the staff were able to get his saturation back up to where it needs to be. But they will need to be able to wean him down from those higher levels as soon as it is safely possible.
Please pray that he remains stable and his oxygenation keeps improving. Please pray that his hemoglobin levels remain normal and that there are no new issues related to this. Please continue to pray for all the staff caring for Dad: for wisdom, for peace, for clarity in treating this illness. Please pray for endurance and comfort for our family as we ride this constant rollercoaster.
With our love and thanks...
Those roller coaster rides are rough. I do love that God placed him in the care of a nurse of faith and it made me happy to hear she prayed with him since we are unable to do that in person. I will continue to lift him up regularly and honor your specific requests. Love to you all.
