Sunday, February 7

Thank you for all the prayers for Dad this weekend. After we asked for prayer on the 4th, by the next morning he was already showing signs of neurological improvement. He is continuing to have small improvements each day. He has been able to respond to some simple requests by the nursing staff (tracking with eyes, moving head, attempts at squeezing their hands), and we are encouraged by that. He is very weak still but showing signs of doing what he can with the strength he has. Every little improvement he shows is a huge victory to us right now; so thank you for answering our call to prayer!

Dad's chest x-rays have shown some improvements over the last couple of days. His lungs are healing to the point where the doctors are starting to discuss removing his breathing tube. This is not the end of a very long road, but it is a significant step and a turning point in his recovery. They hope this might happen in the next couple of days. We've been praying during this entire process for God's perfect timing.

Please continue to pray for his lungs to fully heal and that his body will be ready to breathe without the assistance of intubation. Please pray also for continual return of neurological capability and the beginning of his strength returning. Please pray for his peace throughout this process, especially as we can't be with him at the hospital. Please pray especially for wisdom for the staff overseeing his care.

This is all a long, slow process of healing. It will continue to be so for quite some time. We appreciate your prayer and love, and also your patience with this process while we continue to wait. We were reminded by my Aunt Risa today of how far Dad has come in the last 15 days. God is good.

  2. Continuing to pray for his full recovery and for all of you. I'm so happy to hear the breathing tube may be removed soon. It's baby steps right now, but each step forward is progress. God is definitely good.

  3. The following Bible verse made me think of praying peace for Rob. 🙏🏼❤️

“I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭45:3‬ ‭NIV‬‬
